Description: The Training-Workshop on Crafting of Narrative and Informational Texts: Storybooks Based on Balik Kasaysayan sa Gentri Series is a specialized capacity-building activity designed to equip educators, teacher- writers, and history advocates with the skills necessary to develop engaging storybooks rooted in the rich history of General Trias City. Anchored on the Balik Kasaysayan sa Gentri Series—a collection of locally developed historical publications—the workshop aims to transform factual historical content into accessible and meaningful narrative and informational texts. Using the Balik Kasaysayan sa Gentri Series as foundational material, the workshop guides participants in transforming documented historical content into compelling storybooks for young and adult readers alike. Participants are guided through the fundamentals of writing historically grounded yet creatively presented stories. The sessions include discussions on literary techniques, text structure, age-appropriate language, and the ethical responsibility of writing about historical events and figures. Emphasis is placed on maintaining factual accuracy while enhancing reader engagement through storytelling. Explicitly on preserving the authenticity of historical facts while adapting them into creative outputs that support cultural literacy and community pride.
